At around 70% multiple occupancy, Hillhead has long passed the recommended maximum and is now at straining point. The enormous increase in licensed premises and recent appearance of pubs of an unprecedented size, together with the tendency to allow later licences, has resulted in overprovision.  Hillhead Community Council is seeking to address this with the city council.
